
Judges & Hosts
There will be five judges: Alien Ness,
Bravemonk,
Juse Boogy (Massive Monkees),
Steelo, and
Wayneski (Rock Solid Rockers). The hosts will be Champaign's
Ricky Ridikulous and Chicago's Ray One.
Rounding all this off, will be the Special Guest
Zulu Gremlin.
Judge
Starting back in 1982, Luis Martinez began his b-boy career back in New York City. He soon hooked up with Dance System 10 and began touring internationally. Circa 1985, Alien Ness meet-up with Hip-Hop legends Scott La Rock and KRS-One and became one of the original members of Boogie Down Productions. Recently, Alien Ness was recruited as a member of the internationally known Rock Steady Crew. He was also a special guest when the rock & Roll Hall of Fame recently honored Rock Steady and the New York City Breakers, as well as performing when the exhibition opened at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
Judge
Also known as Richard Steelo Vazquez, Steelo began breaking in 1992.
Originally hailing from Puerto Rico, his first crew affiliation was
with Floor Rockers. Poe One got him started, but Steelo stayed in
Puerto Rico when Poe moved to California. Along the way, he
hooked up with Ground Zero to train & battle and at the end of
2000 Steelo moved to California to train with Poe One. After that,
it's history...
Since then, Steelo has been a constant on the battle scene. Battling
anyone and everyone, he was a constant in the battle scene.
In 2001-2002, he helped form Killafornia. Around this time Steelo was
also working/traveling with Style Elements as well. By 2002-2003, he
hooked up with Flo & Wicket and found himself in Footwork Fanatiks.
Some career highlights include winning the footwork battle & crew battle at B-Boy Summit 2002, winning Freestyle Session 7 with Style
Elements, and most recently winning the Title of World Champs at
the Freestyle Session 8 and World Finals in Japan.
Special Guest
Steven "Zulu Gremlin" Roybal began dancing in 1981. He is a current member of Medea Sirkas and leader of Break Beat Assassins Dance Company. Former affiliations include Rock Steady Crew, the Off-Broadway Musical "Jam On The Groove", and the rap group the Latin Alliance (Virgin Records). Zulu Gremlin was also part of the first Hip-Hop induction at the Rock-n-Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland and the Smithsonian Institute's American Cultural Arts Induction.
